Ad-Hoc Chat App – Privacy Policy
Ad-Hoc Chat App is provided by Primes Lab Inc. (“Primes Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.
Overview
- Ad-Hoc Chat App enables text, audio, and video communication between your devices over a local network (LAN) or VPN.
- The app is designed to operate without a Primes Lab backend server.
- We do not collect, sell, or share personal data with third parties.
Information We Access and How It’s Used
Ad-Hoc Chat App may access or process the following only to provide app functionality:
1) Files you choose to open or transfer
- The app may access file names, file sizes, and file content only when you select files to view, import, export, or transfer using your device.
- File processing and transfers occur locally on your device and directly between your endpoint devices over LAN/VPN.
2) Session information you enter
- If you enter a session number and passcode, the app uses them only to connect and authenticate with your endpoint devices for the session.
- By default, session information is kept in memory during use and not uploaded to Primes Lab.
- If a future version offers an optional “save” feature, it will be clearly disclosed and controlled by you.
3) App cache and temporary data
- The app may store temporary files (cache) to support features such as viewing or exporting.
- Temporary cached data is removed automatically when no longer needed, and you can remove it at any time by clearing the app’s cache/data in system settings.
Data Sharing
- We do not share your data with third parties.
- Data is exchanged only between your endpoint devices as required to provide the features you use.
Analytics and Tracking
- Ad-Hoc Chat App does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.
- If we add optional diagnostics in the future, we will update this policy and provide notice in the app.
Permissions
The app may request the following permissions to enable features you choose to use:
- Network access: to communicate with your endpoint devices over LAN/VPN.
- Camera and microphone: for audio/video calls, only with your permission.
- File access (Storage / SAF file picker): to import/export or share files only when you select files using the Android system file picker.
Security
- Communications between endpoint devices (including text, audio, and video) are encrypted during transmission over LAN/VPN.
Data Retention
- Primes Lab does not retain personal data on company servers because the app does not use a Primes Lab backend server for chat.
- Temporary cached files stored on your device are kept only as needed for functionality and can be removed by clearing cache/app data.
Children’s Privacy
- This app is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Data Transfers
- No. We do not transfer your data to Primes Lab servers. Data remains on your device and within your LAN/VPN connections.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Updates will be posted at this location with a revised effective date.
